    Devils Punchbowl Waterfall

Located in Arthur's Pass National Park area in the Canterbury region, New Zealand.

This is somewhere that we will visit over and over again. An awe inspiring waterfall which is totally worth the many stairs to get too! Bonus features include being surrounded by beautiful bush, being followed by cheeky fantails and spotting snow capped peaks in the surround landscape. We love Devils Punchbowl!

    Devils Punchbowl Walking Track

    Track Access / Information

From the start of the walk, follow the footbridge across the Bealey River. The next bridge, over Devils Punchbowl Creek, has a good view of the waterfall. From here, wander through lush beech forest with friendly fantails/pīwakawaka and tomtits before climbing 150m up a series of steps to a viewing platform at the base of this spectacular waterfall. Return is via the same track. There is a large number of steps which some people may find challenging with an elevation change: of 69m. We recommend you always check in with an appropriate weather forecast service/and the DOC website before taking the trip into Arthur's Pass National Park area's as the weather can cause tracks to close at short notice.

    Weather / What to wear?
